3-step facial from A Caring Touch: Massage Therapy in State College, PA

What is it?

A very simple mud-masque style facial and face massage. The 3 steps include a simple face massage and cleanse with Jojoba oil, the mud masque, and a face massage including lymphatic drainage style strokes after the mud is removed. Jojoba oil is used to do the cleanse because it is the closest oil to human sebum, or our skin's natural oils. The mud used is mixed in-house, and the essential oils added to the mud are designed to benefit the skin and provide a relaxing aromatherapy experience. When the mud is removed, the service is finished with a gentle face massage.

*Author's Note: This is a very basic facial. It does not include some facial elements found in spas and other establishemnts that include things like extractions, steam, and more due to the laws governing the differences between esteticians and massage therapists.

Why?

The cleanse step is done to take dirt, grime, and impurities off the surface of the skin to provide a clean slate for the mud to stick and do it's job. The mud has a natural ability to draw out impurities from the skin, absorb exess oil, and help calm congestion that makes the skin look tired or red. The mud used also includes minerals which can nourish and help the skin on the face. The massage following the removal of the mud is the finishing touch that includes strokes that encourage drainage or lymph, toxins, and other things that make the face look and feel "puffy". Overall, the 3-step facial has some very good benefits for the skin, face, and overall health but it is also a great calming and relaxing treat.

Is it for me?

A 3-Step Facial is a simple way to elevate your massage or give yourself a nice "treat" while also giving your face a little extra attention. It has great benefits both for appearance of the face and skin but also for self-care in that it can add an extra sense of calm and relaxation.
