Public speaking and teaching from A Caring Touch: Massage Therapy in State College, PA

What is it?

With a degree in Pedagogy and 30 years in front of a classroom, Karen can speak about or teach a variety of topics. Karen loves to speak to groups of any size, and has developped classes and presentations on a wide variety of topics. Her belief is that education should be empowering and helpful, so her topics and lessons strive to be engaging and useful, while also tailored to the group she is speaking to. Her original pedagogical education focused on young children, so her classes and lessons are developed in a manner to reach the understanding of whatever group she is speaking to without speaking "over people's heads" or making things "too easy". Every lesson, group, and student is unique, so each lesson should be taught with that in mind.

About What?

Some of the topics she has taught and spoken about include Stress and Stress Management Techniques; Self Massage for Stress, Anxiety, and Relief; Infant Massage for Child Care Professionals; Infant Massage for Parents; Prenatal Massage; Integrating Movement into Child Education, and more. If she has knowledge in a topic, she'll teach it! (And if she doesn't, she may know someone who does and can get you in touch with the right person.)

Who needs it?

Speaking is available for professional development, small or large groups, and more. In-person or online classes available. Some groups Karen has taught for include preschool teachers, elementary school employees, parents, other massage therapists, social workers, hospitals, and more. Some groups who could most use these services would be organizations offering professional development who wants to provide employees tips and education on self care, or those who interact with children and families. She is also originally a dance teacher, who believes in the importance and value of integrating movement and arts into standard education, so speaking is available for both teachers and children. The options are unlimited!
