Massage isn't all relaxation and pampering - it can cause changes on an internal level and have big a impact on your body. This is why it is important to disclose any medical issues to your therapist. If you are worried or embarrassed about any conditions, you have, massage therapists are bound by HIPPA which means that your session is completely private - we can not disclose anything about your conditions to anyone except approved medical providers. We are not even allowed to disclose or admit that you are a client of our or that we have seen you. So with that privacy in mind, it is important that your therapist knows what is going on with your body. If you have had a recent surgery, injection, or other condition, it can alter the pressure, or modalities, that the therapist uses so the issue doesn't inadvertently get aggravated.
